What An Interesting Year It's Been
It’s all systems go at Mollart Engineering (Chessington) after the Christmas break, and we're prepared for an even more ambitious 2026!
Reflecting on 2025, it was a year of increased capacity, new accreditations and going above and beyond to ensure quality, performance and outstanding services to our customers.
Here is a look at the key milestones that shaped the past year. This year 2026 we will continue to focus on these key areas and more.
1. Scaling Up: Increased Gun Drilling Capacity
To keep pace with growing customer demand, we successfully added four new spindles to our gun drilling capability.
The increased capacity allows us to manage higher volumes with shorter lead times, ensuring we can continue to provide outstanding, high-precision deep hole drilling services to our customers.
2. Strategic Growth: The Acquisition of Southern Gun Drilling
Another exciting chapter of 2025 was our acquisition of Southern Gun Drilling. The acquisition has strengthened our offering, bringing additional processes, expertise, and valued customers into the Mollart group.
3. AS9100 Accreditation
Quality has always been at the heartbeat of Mollart Engineering. In 2025 we were proud to have achieved the AS9100 accreditation. This significant milestone has enabled us to support a wider range of projects particularly within the aerospace and defence sectors.
With this certification, we are now fully equipped and authorised to take on complex aerospace projects, providing our clients with the ultimate peace of mind regarding safety, reliability and compliance.
4. Increasing Capacity
The installation of our second LD2-1500 Drillsprint Machine and an LD2-500 Omnisprint were welcomed additions to the subcontract portfolio of other deep hole drilling machines at our Chessington facility.
Having the Drillsprint running a double shift system has not only increased capacity but also enhanced our ability to deliver even more precise and efficient machining solutions to our valued customers.
Looking Ahead to 2026
While we are proud of what we achieved in 2025, we aren't slowing down. These milestones have laid the foundation for an even more ambitious 2026. We are ready to take on new challenges, support more intricate projects, and continue pushing the boundaries of engineering excellence.
