New Machining Capacity At Mollart Engineering's Precision Subcontract Facility In Chessington

Mollart Engineering’s Continued Investment and Growth

As part of the continued investment and growth at Mollart Engineering’s subcontract precision machining facilities, a new deep hole drilling machine, the LD2-1500 Drillsprint was recently delivered and installed our Chessington site in Surrey.

The new drillsprint machine not only increases our overall deep hole drilling capacity but also enhances our ability to deliver even more precise and efficient machining solutions to our valued customers. Having been fully installed it is now running and in full production as part of the operations double shift system.

Key Machining Specifications Including Fanuc Control System:

  • Deep hole drilling from: Ø3mm to Ø26 mm
  • Twin spindle.
  • Hole depths up to 1,500mm.
  • Counter-rotation for improved straightness.
  • Latest Fanuc software, tailored for drilling special alloys.

Drilling Variable Hole Depths

This new machine adds to the portfolio of Machines at our Chessington site and is housed opposite an existing LD2-1200 Drillsprint Machine, creating a dedicated drillsprint cell capable of drilling variable hole depths and materials from hardwood through to super alloys. 

The new investment was made in response to the continued increase in demand associated with our services to a range of many different sectors.  The machine provides a wide variety of applications for customers in every industry that Mollart Engineering currently serves.
