Precision Drilling - Increasing Engine Performance for Leading Auto Manufacturer

Mollart Engineering has successfully supported a leading prestige auto manufacture in extracting more performance from their V12 engine block.

 

The Unique Challenge

Our customer approached Mollart to develop a solution of drilling x 2 Ø23.0mm holes through the galleries of a V12 engine block.

 

Mollart’s in-house design team set to work designing and developing a fixture solution, to enable the precision drilling of the Ø23.0mm holes within hole tolerance of ±0.05mm. We also needed to achieve a hole run of less than 0.001’’ per 1.0’’!

 

This is just one of many unique challenges put forward to Mollart, of which we exceeded customer expectations.
